6.4-magnitude earthquake strikes eastern Indonesia.

Jakarta - An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck the eastern Indonesian islands of North Maluku province Tuesday evening, but there were no immediate reports of injuries and damage, meteorologists said.The quake ocurred at a depth of 10 kilometres, its epicentre about 122 kilometres north-west of Ternate, the capital of North Maluku province, It occurred at 9:06 pm (1206 GMT), the Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) said.The BMG in a statement the quake did not trigger a tsunami, and there were no immediate reports of injuries or structural damage.It was the latest of a series of earthquakes to jolt Indonesia in recent weeks. Eastern Indonesian islands of North Maluku province were rocked by an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale on Tuesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
